Kirby, MVP of Puppy Bowl XVIII Team Fluff won Puppy Bowl 2022, defeating Team Ruff 73–69 and winning the Lombarky Trophy. The Most Valuable Pup was Kirby, a Labrador retriever training to be a service dog.

The all-dog precursor to the Super Bowl was in its 18th year. The contest featured 118 dogs from 33 states and 67 shelters. All dogs have been adopted.

Celebrity coaches Martha Stewart (Team Ruff) and Snoop Dogg (Team Fluff) returned, wearing their team jerseys while also performing TV hosting duties. Other familiar faces included longtime referee Dan Schachner and the kitty cheerleaders, who performed at halftime.

First Lady Jill Biden also paid a visit, accompanied by her new puppy, Commander, a German shepherd. Biden appeared during last year's contest, along with her dogs Champ and Major.

The Puppy Bowl is an annual precursor to the Super Bowl, professional football's championship game. Winning that contest this year were the Los Angeles Rams, defeating the Cincinnati Bengals 23–20.
