The public will again get to choose tokens for the popular board game Monopoly.

Game maker Hasbro will release a new version of the classic property acquisition game called Token Madness. The catch this time is that the eight tokens that will be included in the new version will be chosen by worldwide vote; that vote, of course, will take place via the Internet. The top eight vote-getting tokens from a cast of 64 will represent the future.

Voting is open now and closes January 31. The voting experience is designed to be fun and invits vieweres to explore a virtual home filled with old and new tokens.

This latest online vote follows in the footsteps of a 2013 Facebook-only vote, which replaced the iron with the cat. Joining the cat in the now-standard token lineup are the battleship, the boot, the car, the dog (a Scottish terrier), the top hat, the thimble, and the wheelbarrow.

Results will be released on March 19, which Hasbro has dubbed World Monopoly Day. The new version, featuring the eight new tokens, is expected on shelves in August.
