Roman Empire


Definition: Emperor who is most famous for directing the building of Hadrian's Wall, the wall across northern Britain, to keep out raging Picts. He directed the building of other walls and fortresses throughout the Empire, focusing on keeping what the Romans had gotten rather than continuing to get more.
