Definition: Hugely successful grain-harvesting machine invented by Cyrus McCormick and Obed Hussey in the early part of the 19th century. The reaper made harvesting grain much easier by using revolving bars to cut the grain, pulling it onto a conveyer, and binding it in bushels. This saved huge amounts of time in the harvesting of grain.
