Definition: Another place in which 342 American prisoners were executed by order of Mexican President Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna. (The Alamo was the other.) The Goliad Massacre took place on March 27, 1836. These two massacres made the American people very angry and resulted, in part, in the American victory at San Jacinto and, later, the Mexican War.
