Definition: President of Mexico and chief general of Mexican forces during much of the turbulent mid-19th century. He captured the Alamo and killed all its defenders. He did the same thing at Goliad. He managed to lose magnificently at San Jacinto. He led his troops during the Mexican-American War. He remained president after the war and was removed from office several years later.
