Planned for the 1100-square-foot garden are more than 50 varieties of vegetables, to be cooked for meals in the White House and to be given to a local homeless shelter.

The list includes lettuces, spinach, peas, kale, carrots, radishes, onions, chard, and host of herbs and flowers.
