The U.S. Postal Service has released a set of 20 stamps featuring images from the world of Harry Potter.

J.K. Rowling's famed "boy who lived" can be found on Forever stamps, along with other characters from the best-selling book series. The Postal Service unveiled the stamps at Orlando's Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Featured on the stamps are scenes from the movies:

  • Harry himself (first and last movies)
  • Harry's best friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger
  • Harry's arch-nemesis, Voldemort
  • Harry's other friends Hagrid and Luna Lovegood
  • Hogwarts professors Severus Snape and Minerva McGonagall
  • Ron Weasley's siblings Fred, George, and Ginny
  • Harry's owl, Hedwig
  • Dobby the house elf
  • Harry's boy nemesis, Draco Malfoy
  • Dark witch Bellatrix Lestrange

Some influential stamp collectors have complained about the commercial nature of the stamps and that the American stamps feature the creations of a non-American author.
The Postal Service released figures showing a $5 billion loss last year and said that the Harry Potter release was an attempt to inspire young people to become collectors.
